Reception

Highwaymen received largely negative reviews from critics. It holds an approval rating of just 13% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 15 reviews, with an average rating of 3.2/10. Critics noted the film’s well-executed crash scenes but criticized its overall execution. For instance, Anna Smith from Empire rated it 2 out of 5 stars, lamenting that the film hinted at being better than it ultimately was. Similarly, Jamie Russell from BBC gave it a low score of 1 out of 5 stars, describing it as “a five-lane pileup on the freeway to hell” .Overall, while Highwaymen attempts to deliver thrills through its action sequences and a revenge-driven plot, it has not resonated well with audiences or critics alike.
